A new transit camp project is taking shape in the Anjirwadi district in the city of Mumbai. The high-rise tower will function as a temporary housing for the residents of Bhendi Bazar. The accommodation will be provisional and free of charge for the duration of 15 years while clusters 3A and 3B are being built. The large-scale redevelopment will result in a dramatic change to the face of Bhendi Bazar. Developer is the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust, whose aim is to promote a sense of community living – a preview of what is to come in the larger context of the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project.
